Welcome to the USS Washington-E!

Welcome to the USS Washington-E, a post-Dominion War sim. The year is 2386. The Dominion War has been over for several years, but its aftermath is still unfolding. The Federation and the Romulans are the only two major powers, and only the Federation is stable, to a point. The Klingon Empire is still rebuilding and addressing its many wounds from the war, Cardassia is in shambles and occupied, and the Romulans are in far worse shape because of their own misdeeds than they would have outsiders believe. The Federation is now the lone superpower in the Quadrant, a role it neither wants nor enjoys. Exploration has returned, but the dangers of space have never been more pronounced. Welcome to the USS Washington, where danger and adventure lurk around every corner.

» April Awards

Posted on Mon May 4th, 2026 @ 8:36pm by Captain Shran dh'Klar in General News

Well, April was a fun month. Everyone seemed to participate, but two of our players were particularly active and really pushed things forward. Our mission seems to be moving to its climax, but we saw plenty of great posts surrounding this fun story in April. Below you will find the April winners, and as always, I congratulate them and wish them luck as they represent the ship at the fleet level.

The shortest month of the year is over, and we are moving into March and the greenery of Spring. Before things warm up and everyone starts looking to go outside again, we did have ourselves a good month of posting. Honestly, I think the month was dominated by Lt Kono, and the awards reflect that. That isn't to say other people didn't make contributions, she just had a much larger volume of material over anyone else. As the mission seems to be moving towards its climax in the main story, I think we'll see a lot more from everyone else…

Mission: Sins of the Empire
Posted on Tue May 19th, 2026 @ 4:21pm by Lieutenant JG Kate Kono

Red Alert wasn’t the worst way to wake up, not by a parsec, but it still ranked. Lieutenant Kate Kono jerked up, adrenaline shunting her brain straight out of a dreamless blank and into a fizzing now. Her cheek was hot against Kodie’s fur; her Siberian’s thick tail flicked over her eyes, but the dog’s body trembled with the same animal urgency that had always saved them both.

“Okay, okay,” Kate mumbled. She palmed at Kodie’s ruff, the dog’s blue eyes catching the stuttering red flash that bled in around the edges of the blackout shade. The Red Alert klaxon…

Mission: Sins of the Empire
Posted on Tue May 19th, 2026 @ 11:23am by Lieutenant Imik S'Niohun

ON

Imik had been relaxing in her cabin, her duty shift wasn't due to start for another few hours. Then red alert sounded, scrambling for her uniform she dressed as quickly as possible. But as quickly as she dressed the alert dropped to yellow, but she had felt torpedo's being launched that meant a threat or possibly a response some other danger. She continued to dress and headed for the door, in the corridor she found others who were unsure what had happened. An Ensign looked at her hands spread wide in a questioning gesture, "Do not just stand there…

Mission: Sins of the Empire
Posted on Tue May 19th, 2026 @ 10:42am by Captain Shran dh'Klar

Shran sat on the bridge of the Washington as the ship patrolled the edge of the Neutral Zone, near the area where Federation space met the border of Klingon and Romulan space. This was a routine patrol and was generally uneventful since the Dominion War. Sam had told him to take it easy since the shuttle incident, but Shran didn't see any harm in sitting on the bridge for this walk in the park assignment. He had given some time off to the crew, though most simply remained on the ship.

Things had been quiet. Scanning empty space, cataloguing space…

Mission: The Shuttle Incident
Posted on Sun May 17th, 2026 @ 10:54pm by Captain Shran dh'Klar & Commander Jonathan Grayson & Lieutenant Commander Callie Raven-Grayson & Lieutenant Imik S'Niohun & Lieutenant JG Kate Kono & Lieutenant JG James Phoenix & Chief Petty Officer Aaron Geiger

Several hours had passed, though it felt like days with the stress of the situation. The arrival of the Fleming had allowed Sam and her medical teams a needed respite, but not until she had briefed Capt. Livingston about her work. Deanna had to also brief the Fleming's captain regarding the work that had been done to deal with the animal and plant life in the affected zone. The Washington was now free to join the search for the missing runabout with Capt Shran and others.

The Washington had moved to the runabout's last known position. Jon glanced over to…

Mission: The Shuttle Incident
Posted on Wed May 13th, 2026 @ 11:38am by Captain Shran dh'Klar & Lieutenant JG Kate Kono & Lieutenant JG James Phoenix

The sky was becoming dark and darker, looking like dark sackcloth with flashes of electricity pulsing through it as volcanic lightning streaked down into the heart of the volcano, churning the magma. The once dense jungle that they had explored only a few hours ago had been obliterated, the remnants lying broken beneath his feet splintered and split from the pyroclastic explosion that had nearly killed them a few minutes ago. Shran pushed forward through the debris and the through the heat radiating from the rivers of lava as he made his way towards the volcano. He couldn't help but…

» Absence Does Not Make the Heart Grow Fonder

Posted on Wed Apr 22nd, 2026 @ 3:49pm by Lieutenant JG Benjamin "Ben" Dalton

OCC: Ben and Kate's Quarters.

IC:

Ben sat at the desk, he was idlily scratching Kodie's ears but his mind was elsewhere. He missed Kate.

IC:

"Personal Log. Lieutenant Ben Dalton. I miss Kate. I miss her terribly. I miss her exuberance, her sense of humor, her goodness. her quirkiness. I can say for a fact that absence does not make the heart grown fonder. It makes me miss her even more. Even Kodie misses her scratching his ears and stomach."

He paused and sighed before resuming his recording. "I know she is with the captain and others on a…

"Personal Log, Lieutenant JG James Phoenix.

This is a bit of a weird log. I haven't sat down to type one of these since my assignment at Deep Space Two. I never really needed to. I usually wait until I'm off duty and alone in my quarters. I suppose I'm just bored on this road-trip with my colleagues, and I don't want to bother them while I am keeping an eye on the Bahamut's tactical readouts.

We are returning to the Washington after an intelligence conference with the brass. I am honored that the Captain asked me to represent security…

Personal Log, Ensign Janelle Barett

I was selected for my first away mission today.

I knew it was coming, statistically at least. New ensign, operations background, limited planetside exposure. Eventually the numbers align. Still, when my name was spoken on the bridge, it felt unreal in a way training simulations never manage.

I do not think I smiled. I do not think I said anything unnecessary. I acknowledged the order, confirmed readiness, and did exactly what I have practiced doing for years.

Then I went to my quarters and stood there for a full minute doing absolutely nothing.

There is…

» Personal Log - The Quiet

Posted on Tue Jan 20th, 2026 @ 6:29am by Ensign Janelle Barett

Personal log, Ensign Janelle Barett.

When I think back on my first night aboard the Washington, what stays with me is not the size of my quarters or the hum of the ship’s systems.

It is how quiet everything felt once the door closed.

The room was larger than my Academy quarters. Quieter, too. No voices through thin walls, no shared routines, only the steady, impersonal thrum of the ship, constant and unjudging. At the time, I told myself it was calming.

I remember standing there longer than necessary, posture still perfect, hands at my sides, as if waiting for…

Computer, start recording:-

I have now been on board for several days, still I have not seen nor reported to the Sinkahue or Grayson. My mind is much conflicted with these new orders from my High Command, just how they expect me to continue with my duties while remaining apart from all Federation personnel is something I at this time fail to see as possible.

It is almost as if they want this collaboration to collapse into failure, maybe the section of our Council which is pushing for us to end all contact with the Federation has finally turned the…
