Welcome to the USS Washington-E, a post-Dominion War sim. The year is 2386. The Dominion War has been over for several years, but its aftermath is still unfolding. The Federation and the Romulans are the only two major powers, and only the Federation is stable, to a point. The Klingon Empire is still rebuilding and addressing its many wounds from the war, Cardassia is in shambles and occupied, and the Romulans are in far worse shape because of their own misdeeds than they would have outsiders believe. The Federation is now the lone superpower in the Quadrant, a role it neither wants nor enjoys. Exploration has returned, but the dangers of space have never been more pronounced. Welcome to the USS Washington, where danger and adventure lurk around every corner.

On this day, September 8, 1966 the debut of the original Star Trek with the TOS crew we have always loved came on and changed the world forever. Capt Kirk, Spock, Dr. McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu, and Chekov gave us 3 seasons worth of missions in which we saw Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future with humanity boldly going into the final frontier.

The end of the summer has arrived with August now in the books. Always amazes me how quickly the summer months seem to pass, especially now in my adult years. Some might think I would feel differently as a parent, but all of us with kids know the time goes by far too quickly.

Another month has passed and we all did solid work. All active players had at least 3 posts, and four players had at least 5 posts. Excellent work. The planet hung in space like a grim green orb. As the Washington approached the planet named Stoker, Shran wondered why this planet had been named after the Irish writer, though the eerie look and feel of it seemed to be a self-evident answer. So I tried to run the numbers on my kill count the other day… Full analytical breakdown, the whole thing, and the universe just laughed at me.

It has been a few weeks since I took on my new job as Commander Imik's second in command. I never thought I would be promoted twice in a year. It's not impossible, but it is most definitely an uncommon occurrence. I'm not complaining by any means, I just feel that I've surprised myself.
