Welcome to the USS Washington-E!
Welcome to the USS Washington-E, a post-Dominion War sim. The year is 2386. The Dominion War has been over for several years, but its aftermath is still unfolding. The Federation and the Romulans are the only two major powers, and only the Federation is stable, to a point. The Klingon Empire is still rebuilding and addressing its many wounds from the war, Cardassia is in shambles and occupied, and the Romulans are in far worse shape because of their own misdeeds than they would have outsiders believe. The Federation is now the lone superpower in the Quadrant, a role it neither wants nor enjoys. Exploration has returned, but the dangers of space have never been more pronounced. Welcome to the USS Washington, where danger and adventure lurk around every corner.

The flowers have bloomed, all traces of cold wintery weather is gone, and even the bulk of the Spring rain has passed. That can mean only one thing, May has come and gone. It was a good month, and when I reviewed the posts, it turned out to be even better than I had remembered. Everyone seems to have contributed in some way. As we move into the summer months (at least for most of us), I look forward to seeing what we all come up with in our posting. Below you will find the May awards. As always, I…

Well, April was a fun month. Everyone seemed to participate, but two of our players were particularly active and really pushed things forward. Our mission seems to be moving to its climax, but we saw plenty of great posts surrounding this fun story in April. Below you will find the April winners, and as always, I congratulate them and wish them luck as they represent the ship at the fleet level.

Mission: Sins of the Empire

Angelo’s stomach lurched before he even cleared the corridor. He pulled his shirt up over his nose, took one peek around the corner into the docking airlock, and immediately soaked the inside of it. What was left of whoever it had been was still attached to the docking clamps; fused to them, the fingers and the metal having become a single blackened material, the hands drawn up into the chest in the way cooked things draw up. The face had split open along the jaw. The smell was not the smell of burning. It was the smell of the inside…

Captain Cross entered the turbolift alone. He had found a bottle of whiskey somewhere between Engineering and here—good whiskey, the real kind, not the replicated swill and the neck of it was already dark with fingerprints, the level already down by a few long pulls. The doors closed. He drove his fist into the controls and the lift lurched to a stop. He stood there a moment, chest heaving, jaw locked, and then something in him gave way—he opened his mouth and screamed, a raw, tearing sound that started as a word and became nothing, the cords of his neck…

Mission: Sins of the Empire

Kate’s head was still spinning, but Kevin’s cold grip on her arm kept her centered. He steered her down a corridor toward another section of the ship. Kate slipped her hand into her pocket and closed her fingers around the scalpel she’d lifted from the operating table.
“You’re going to kill me too?” she said, her expression a mix of pain and accusation. “Is that your new plan?”
“I don’t want to, but I have to,” Kevin replied as he kept her moving. At the end of the hall, Kate spotted an airlock.
“No! Are you serious?!” Her eyes went…

Mission: Sins of the Empire
Posted on Fri Jun 12th, 2026 @ 8:33am by Lieutenant JG Kate Kono & Captain Shran dh'Klar
Kate entered the turbolift with three other security officers and let the doors close behind her. She holstered her phaser and leaned against the wall, the carpet padding cold against her shoulders.
“Takes about a minute to get there, even on Security Express,” the Officer said.
Kate let her eyes close. The hum of the turbolift filled the silence.
“Hunting one of your own. Sort of takes the small talk out of the equation, eh, Lieutenant?”
She opened her eyes at the ceiling for a moment before looking back down at nothing in particular. Her arms tightened across her chest.…

None of them spoke. Kate, Na'Riss, and AJ stood motionless as the holodeck replay finished—Kevin's face frozen in their minds, calm and certain as he did what he did, not knowing none of it was real. Na'Riss swallowed hard. On the screen, the holographic AJ wept over her own body, and the real AJ pulled Na'Riss close, then reached for Kate. Kate let herself be pulled in. She didn't try to stop the tear that fell.
"He's a monster," Kate whispered through a sniffle.
"Mon, I swear…" AJ stopped himself, jaw tight, voice dropping low. "I want to go in…

Captain's Personal Log
While we were on patrol of the Neutral Zone, we were pulled into an incident. I say we, but I mean that I was pulled into the incident. Many years ago, around the time of the war, Worf introduced me to a strange Klingon woman. Her name was Ba'el, and Worf was seemingly her guardian. He brought her to serve in the Klingon Defense Forces and later had her brought into the House of Martok.
Her very existence was a sin of the Empire, something they would never talk about. most in the Federation do not truly…

Begin personal log.
This is my first personal log on board following our long sojourn on Earth and Vulcan, my injuries are healed, everything is working well and I am used to my enhancements. Looks like the Washington is in a real mess once again but, to tell the truth I have missed it and the people on her, my friends. I think Seth will be glad to get back to work after spending an extended time on Vulcan staying with aunt She'la whilst I worked on getting my mental health back up to strength with T'ghrek. We have left…

OCC: Ben and Kate's Quarters.
IC:
Ben sat at the desk, he was idlily scratching Kodie's ears but his mind was elsewhere. He missed Kate.
IC:
"Personal Log. Lieutenant Ben Dalton. I miss Kate. I miss her terribly. I miss her exuberance, her sense of humor, her goodness. her quirkiness. I can say for a fact that absence does not make the heart grown fonder. It makes me miss her even more. Even Kodie misses her scratching his ears and stomach."
He paused and sighed before resuming his recording. "I know she is with the captain and others on a…

"Personal Log, Lieutenant JG James Phoenix.
This is a bit of a weird log. I haven't sat down to type one of these since my assignment at Deep Space Two. I never really needed to. I usually wait until I'm off duty and alone in my quarters. I suppose I'm just bored on this road-trip with my colleagues, and I don't want to bother them while I am keeping an eye on the Bahamut's tactical readouts.
We are returning to the Washington after an intelligence conference with the brass. I am honored that the Captain asked me to represent security…

Personal Log, Ensign Janelle Barett
I was selected for my first away mission today.
I knew it was coming, statistically at least. New ensign, operations background, limited planetside exposure. Eventually the numbers align. Still, when my name was spoken on the bridge, it felt unreal in a way training simulations never manage.
I do not think I smiled. I do not think I said anything unnecessary. I acknowledged the order, confirmed readiness, and did exactly what I have practiced doing for years.
Then I went to my quarters and stood there for a full minute doing absolutely nothing.
There is…
