Welcome to the USS Washington-E!

Welcome to the USS Washington-E, a post-Dominion War sim. The year is 2386. The Dominion War has been over for several years, but its aftermath is still unfolding. The Federation and the Romulans are the only two major powers, and only the Federation is stable, to a point. The Klingon Empire is still rebuilding and addressing its many wounds from the war, Cardassia is in shambles and occupied, and the Romulans are in far worse shape because of their own misdeeds than they would have outsiders believe. The Federation is now the lone superpower in the Quadrant, a role it neither wants nor enjoys. Exploration has returned, but the dangers of space have never been more pronounced. Welcome to the USS Washington, where danger and adventure lurk around every corner.

March was a great month. Everyone did a great job. With all that happens in March, I was happy to see that everyone participated quite a bit. We ended one mission and started a new one, and things are moving along nicely. Below you will find the award noms. I congratulate our winners as always and hope we do well at the fleet level.

Posted on Mon Mar 2nd, 2026 @ 6:14pm by Captain Shran dh'Klar in General News

The shortest month of the year is over, and we are moving into March and the greenery of Spring. Before things warm up and everyone starts looking to go outside again, we did have ourselves a good month of posting. Honestly, I think the month was dominated by Lt Kono, and the awards reflect that. That isn't to say other people didn't make contributions, she just had a much larger volume of material over anyone else. As the mission seems to be moving towards its climax in the main story, I think we'll see a lot more from everyone else…

Mission: The Shuttle Incident
Posted on Wed Apr 22nd, 2026 @ 1:37pm by Captain Shran dh'Klar & Lieutenant JG Kate Kono & Lieutenant JG James Phoenix & Ensign Janelle Barett

Shran was in the lead as they entered the jungle. He had his rifle in a readied position, looking like he was a hunter on safari. The jungle was thick with foliage but thinned just a bit after pushing forward several meters. Light pushed through the thick canopy like streams of pasta, the air thick and sticky with the high humidity.

Phoenix maintained the rear position in the group. He was being extra vigilant, but to a reasonable extent. He remained quiet with his phaser out and ready. If it weren't for the dangers of the island, he would have…

Mission: The Shuttle Incident
Posted on Wed Apr 22nd, 2026 @ 1:19pm by Lieutenant Commander Deanna Celes & Commander Jonathan Grayson & Commander Samantha Howard & Lieutenant Commander Callie Raven-Grayson & Lieutenant Inara Senn

The beleaguered medical practitioner looked at Sam like a confused zombie. He seemed to groan incoherently for a moment before he began to finally make sense. He saw Sam and her Vulcan companion, "StarFleet. Thank God. We don't have the resources for whatever this is."

"We kinda got that bit, but the data your government sent us was...let's just say incomplete" Sam started and was pointed towards a notebook filled with scratching.

"My notes, they're all we have" he admitted as Sam moved over to the book. "There was a flash in the sky, then everything and everyone started to…

Mission: The Shuttle Incident
Posted on Tue Apr 21st, 2026 @ 1:48pm by Lieutenant Imik S'Niohun & Commander Jonathan Grayson

ON

Imik entered the bridge and took station, looking around she noted the other bridge crew busy checking read outs and status reports. This was her duty station for the next few hours and so she too checked her read outs and status reports. One thing did catch her eye, a shuttle which had been out of contact for over the prescribed time. A quick check on the crew manifest showed the Sinkahue was on board, that meant the lack of contact was somewhat more unusual as Shran was meticulous about away team protocols. Spotting Jon in the centre seat…

Mission: The Shuttle Incident
Posted on Mon Apr 20th, 2026 @ 9:04pm by Ensign Aidan "A.J." Reid & Ensign Kevin Mitchell & Lieutenant JG Benjamin "Ben" Dalton

Ensign AJ Reid hunched over his desk, eyes narrowed at the sensor readings from their last encounter with the unidentified shuttle. Through his peripheral vision, he caught Lieutenant Dalton checking the chronometer for the third time in five minutes, jaw muscles visibly tightening at Ensign Mitchell's continued absence. AJ offered what he hoped was a reassuring nod.

""De man probably be lookin' ova dem engine plans in de eatin' area, sah," he said, the words rolling with the rhythm of Kingston streets, fingers already discreetly tapping a message to Na'Riss beneath his console.

When his PaDD vibrated with Na'Riss's response—that…

Mission: The Shuttle Incident

Sam, Deanna, and Sakonna materialized on Loras with their equipment. Deanna looked around, the square of the colony quiet and desolate. "Whatever happened here, it looks to have taken a toll" she noted.

Where there should have been people, there were bodies, piled up against the sides of the street whilst a single hovercart tried to load them.

"It's worse than I thought" Sam grimaced, stepping over to the body of a young woman, her features starting to grey and a mottled complexion on her skin. "She died 10 hours ago; her lungs are filled with some kind of fluid."…

» Absence Does Not Make the Heart Grow Fonder

Posted on Wed Apr 22nd, 2026 @ 3:49pm by Lieutenant JG Benjamin "Ben" Dalton

OCC: Ben and Kate's Quarters.

IC:

Ben sat at the desk, he was idlily scratching Kodie's ears but his mind was elsewhere. He missed Kate.

IC:

"Personal Log. Lieutenant Ben Dalton. I miss Kate. I miss her terribly. I miss her exuberance, her sense of humor, her goodness. her quirkiness. I can say for a fact that absence does not make the heart grown fonder. It makes me miss her even more. Even Kodie misses her scratching his ears and stomach."

He paused and sighed before resuming his recording. "I know she is with the captain and others on a…

"Personal Log, Lieutenant JG James Phoenix.

This is a bit of a weird log. I haven't sat down to type one of these since my assignment at Deep Space Two. I never really needed to. I usually wait until I'm off duty and alone in my quarters. I suppose I'm just bored on this road-trip with my colleagues, and I don't want to bother them while I am keeping an eye on the Bahamut's tactical readouts.

We are returning to the Washington after an intelligence conference with the brass. I am honored that the Captain asked me to represent security…

Personal Log, Ensign Janelle Barett

I was selected for my first away mission today.

I knew it was coming, statistically at least. New ensign, operations background, limited planetside exposure. Eventually the numbers align. Still, when my name was spoken on the bridge, it felt unreal in a way training simulations never manage.

I do not think I smiled. I do not think I said anything unnecessary. I acknowledged the order, confirmed readiness, and did exactly what I have practiced doing for years.

Then I went to my quarters and stood there for a full minute doing absolutely nothing.

There is…

» Personal Log - The Quiet

Posted on Tue Jan 20th, 2026 @ 6:29am by Ensign Janelle Barett

Personal log, Ensign Janelle Barett.

When I think back on my first night aboard the Washington, what stays with me is not the size of my quarters or the hum of the ship’s systems.

It is how quiet everything felt once the door closed.

The room was larger than my Academy quarters. Quieter, too. No voices through thin walls, no shared routines, only the steady, impersonal thrum of the ship, constant and unjudging. At the time, I told myself it was calming.

I remember standing there longer than necessary, posture still perfect, hands at my sides, as if waiting for…

Computer, start recording:-

I have now been on board for several days, still I have not seen nor reported to the Sinkahue or Grayson. My mind is much conflicted with these new orders from my High Command, just how they expect me to continue with my duties while remaining apart from all Federation personnel is something I at this time fail to see as possible.

It is almost as if they want this collaboration to collapse into failure, maybe the section of our Council which is pushing for us to end all contact with the Federation has finally turned the…
