Mission: Here There Be Dragons
Location: Ben and Kate's Quarters
Timeline: After It Lurks in The Crawlspace

He moved stealthily but purposely as he stalked his quarry. It was important to take them by surprise. He moved lightly in between the furnishings careful not to disrupt or knock anything over. he was attentive to any sound he made that might alert his quarry to his presence. He paused his creeping to listen if his quarry had been alerted. All remained quiet so he continued forward. His destination only a few feet away.

He stopped in the doorway and looked inside the room. he could see her, sleeping, curled tight into HIS arms a contented smile on her face. The fact that they were together made his attack all the better. He could get them both with one strike and they would never know until it was too late.

He gathered himself. His legs curling into tight bands to launch himself in his surprise, devastating attack. he gave one more look to make sure all was as it should be. Satisfied it was now or never he launched himself toward the bed. Landing in the middle he gave a happy woof as he tore at the covers to give Ben and Kate happy licks and poke them with his nose. Ben reacted first. "What the ?????" he reacted in alarm then he saw Kodie standing over him, his eyes happy as he leaned forward and licked ben's cheek. In return ben grabbed the dog in a playful hug and pulled him down onto the bed. "Darn Kodie, you got us. I never heard you. You are getting good at this." He stated as he ruffled the dogs head and scratched under his chin. Kate had meanwhile rolled over in sleepy, blissful confusion, smiled at the scene before her and rolled back over and went back to sleep mumbling something like "clowns."

Ben chuckled at Kate's observation. "Don't listen to he Kodie, you are smart. Now calm down and I'll let you stay here but you have to lie still. Okay?" A soft woof was given and Kodie lay his head down between his paws. A satisfied thought crossed his mind, missionn accomplished!
