Mission: Creatures of the Night
Location: USS Washington

Shran exited the bridge and made his way to Jon's quarters. It was late, but this was part of the job for both of them. It was rare for Shran to be on duty this late, but when they were due to arrive someplace, no matter what time, he preferred to be there, even if this seemed like a milk run.

He reached the door and moved to press the chime but hesitated. Jon and Callie had kids aboard. He didn't wish to wake them. But the thought returned to him, this was the job. He pressed the chime and waited to see who would answer.

A moment passed, two then the door slid open and Jon stood there, "Captain! This is a surprise. Please come in."

Shran entered. "Apologies for the late housecall. We have arrived at Stoker, and after speaking with the head scientist at the station, I have decided to go down, investigate things myself. I am going to see about bringing Sam and Kate, and of course Deanna was already leading the science and engineering team. I know you are proctoring the Command Level Exam tomorrow, but I want you take the bridge. I'll leave Imik here to serve as a backup should you need her, along with L'Rissa and Ibarra."

"Yes sir. May I suggest you take a security detail as well with you. You are the commanding officer of a starship after all. I will take the bridge and keep things in order with the help of Imik and the others. Don't forget I'll have Callie and James here as well."

"Got it taken care of. Requested Potter, Granger, and Weasley. Something told me they would be the right fit for this sort of away mission" Shran said with a wry grin. "I'll let you get to things. Lt. Ibarra can definitely take over bridge duty for you if necessary if you need to do anything before Gamma shift goes on duty at 0200."

"They are good." Jon agree. "Have fun on the surface sir. We'll keep things together up here. No worries. We'll have everything covered."

"I'll keep a comm channel open" Shran replied with a smile as he left.
