Mission: Creatures of the Night
Location: Planet Stoker's moon
Timeline: After Bad Time for a Curse Part 4

The Washington was in orbit all was normal when tactical announced there was a ship in a decaying orbit around the moon of Stoker which the Washington was currently orbiting.

"Sensors ID it as the SS Baychimo, a civilian transport."

Jon took it all in and made a decision. He opened a link with the captain to inform him of the ship.

"Grayson to Shran."

=^=Go ahead Jon. =^= Shran answered.

"Sir, sensors have picked up an derelict ship around this world's moon. It is in a decaying orbit. I'd like to leave orbit and investigate this further." Jon answered crisply.

=^=Understood. Proceed with caution. Mysteries abound on this planet, and this sounds like another eerie mystery. =^=

"Aye sir, we'll be careful. We shouldn't be long. We'll keep you informed." Jon replied.

Callie sat looking at her husband. “This entire planet gives me the creeps! I have no idea why, but it runs a chill down my spine every time I get a sense from down there.”

"It gives off weird vibes that is for sure." Jon said rising. "Callie, Imik, James and Viviana. We're going on a field trip to that ship. Grab standard away team equipment, phaser, tricorder. We'll meet in transporter room 2." Jon told the officers.

Sitting listening to the Humans made Imik wonder about their thought process, but other species seemed to catch the idea of mystery and fear. "Commander, do we have a time scale of how long we will have onboard this derelict vessel?" Memories of her last visit to such a vessel surfaced and she quickly squashed, them, "And are we sure this vessel is indeed abandoned?"

Jon turned to face Imik, "A time scale? I would an hour perhaps two depending on what we find. As for being sure it is a derelict, sensors show no life forms aboard it and it appears the ship is at least 150 years old."

"Aye sir" James complied with the order and requested a relief for the auxiliary tactical console. He began to leave the bridge to gather his gear before he would head towards the transporter room.

Viviana entered the transporter room with her medkit and a phaser on her hip, her tricorder on the other. She was relieved to find that she was the first to arrive. She turned her back to the transporter chief and pull out the crucifix she had around her neck, giving it a kiss. Something told her she was going to need all the help she could get for this away mission.

Having encountered shortly before the Doc, James was already on the transporter pad. He raised an eyebrow at Viviana giving a kiss to the crucifix, not because of the action itself, but because of the implications of what the away team might face. That wasn't concerning AT ALL.

Viviana took notice of Phoenix and tucked her crucifix into her uniform. As long as it wasn't visible, it was still within regulations. "Don't normally wear it, but something about this place just makes me uneasy. I get the feelings I used to get as a young child when we would celebrate Día de Muertos. I'm a doctor, I protect life, not death."

"Fair enough" James said. "We'll do our best to protect you and the rest of the team. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't feeling uneasy myself."

"I just wish I knew why I felt this way. I've been in dangerous situations before, but never something that just feels eerie" Viviana admitted.

Jon entered next. A phaser hung at his hip. He nodded to James and Viviana. "Once Callie and Imik get here, we'll beam over to the alien ship and see if we can determine what happened."

Callie followed on entering a few moments later, she also had a phaser as much as she hated having to use one. She nodded to everyone as she stepped up onto the pad, she wasn’t looking forward to this trip.

Imik entered last and nodded towards her fellow away team members, a tricorder clearly visible hung from her belt. What hung on her right hip wasn't a standard phaser, it was an Ojnas blaster visibly set to its highest setting. She took her place and waited, derelicts and Imik S'Niohun were two things that just didn't go together.

Viviana looked at Imik's weapon and then stepped onto the transporter. She took her place near the rear and then looked to Imik, "Shouldn't your weapon be set to stun? I thought that was standard practice."

Turning to look at Viviana, Imik nodded. "If I had a phaser it would set at that level, but as you can see, I do not have a phaser. I have boarded so called derelicts before that showed no life signs with a weapon set to stun, I nearly paid for that mistake with my life. I will not make the same mistake again Lieutenant."

Viviana felt no better about things with Imik's words. It was as if Imik wanted to tempt fate having a weapon set above stun. But perhaps this was just her way of dealing with the same eerie feeling she needed her crucifix for.

“I’m not feeling anything yet Imik, but that could change.” Callie added. “I’ll do my best to keep myself open over there, so I can give enough warning if necessary.”

Jon stepped onto the transporter pad. "Alright everyone. Stay frosty." He looked at the transporter chief, "Beam us onto the bridge of that derelict ship."
