Previously:-{Downloading all the information onto a PaDD, Imik now stood and pressed her communicator. "Imik to Sinkahue Shran and Commander Grayson, I would seek council with you in the briefing room as soon as possible. I have some information you may wish to know"}
Arriving at the briefing room first, Imik now transferred her information onto two other PaDD's. She placed them where both Shran and Jon would normally sit, Imik then moved to her normal seat and stood waiting for the two Federation Officers to arrive.
Receiving Imik's rather cryptic summons to meet with her in the briefing room, Jon headed there, wondering what it was she wished to discuss that she needed to see the captain and himself. Arriving at the briefing room, Jon entered and Imik already sitting there, waiting. "Hi Imik." Jon greeted pleasantly, "What's up?"
As Jon entered, Imik bowed. "Blessings on your house and the vessel you serve, if you wish to read the PaDD at your chair as we await the Sinkahue it may enlighten you to the forth coming meeting."
Shran entered laughing, joined by a redheaded female wearing an elegant dress and shining brightly. "Jon, it appears we have a guest. We have most definitely encountered the Tuatha homeworld. As you can see, Brigid has made an appearance." He looked to Imik, "My apologies lieutenant, we were discussing something that happened before your posting here. I understand you had some misgivings about them; you had some sort of encounter with them while I was on the surface."
"Her people may have misunderstanding of us. They warred with the spider people long ago, and they once insult Ogham, though perhaps they were unaware of it. I will leave you to speak with your people. Perhaps you will enjoy our hospitality on the planet later" Brigid added. Before an answer could be given, she vanished in a bright golden light.
"If only all the god-like beings we encounter were quite so hospitable" Shran said with a smirk. "Now then, Imik, you wished to see me. What is it that you felt was urgent enough to request a private meeting?" Shran said as he walked to his normal seat at the head of the conference table.
Before Imik could reply, Jon spoke up. "Read the PaDD sir, that will answer all your questions and tell you why we are here for this meeting."
"Mystery shrouded in enigma and intrigue. I suddenly feel like I am back working in Intelligence" Shran said with a smile.
Jon grinned and looked over to Imik. "You have Imik to thank for that feeling sir." He said with another grin at Imik.
Imik was about to greet Shran but stopped as Brigid first appeared and just as quickly disappeared, then before she could answer Shran's question Jon directed him to the PaDD. She stood in silence as Shran read the PaDD, then as he placed the device back on the table Imik waited for his response.
"So you are under the belief that Brigid, who I was just speaking with, is also Arianrhod? I have to tell you, I am skeptical, especially since we have encountered these entities before. Present your case" Shran replied.
Jon glanced in Imik's direction and waited to hear her reply to Shran's rather pointed question.
Imik now shook her head, "No Sinkahue, the being you were with may in deed be Brigid. But the being my people encountered centuries ago who stated they were Brigid was not. From what I have discovered, that being was Arianrhod. And her belief that my people were destroyed and that secret in her opinion safe, has been eliminated by my arrival. She may now react in a possibly violent way towards this vessel and crew, to keep her deception from being discovered."
The Ojnas officer picked up the PaDD, "Arianrhod in my opinion can not be trusted not to react in some way, her reaction to her learning the Ojnas race is in fact alive and thriving was shown in how she interacted with me I only urge caution on our part until we can fully understand and control any situation with that being."
Jon spoke as Imik finished. "I'm curious Imik, how do you propose we control a situation with a god?"
Turning to Jon, Imik smiled. "I believe that their powers are not natural or inexhaustible, I am also of the belief that some device on their planet sustains their power, which is why at this time with the core fragment they cannot deal with both it and us together." She turned to Shran, "I feel their power is finite, and the core fragment and how they are dealing with it is straining that power source."
"I will grant you that they don't have infinite power. They have never claimed that they do, unlike other entities of this sort" Shran replied. "We have no evidence of a power source being used, however. Like other entities they have evolved, and it has given them abilities. We saw some of what is possible by forced genetic manipulation on that planet that Inara dubbed the space Nazis. For what reason do you feel the need to bring these..." Shran considered how to best pose the question, "accusations?"
Jon shifted just a bit to look at Imik, to better see her reaction to the question and to her answer. "I am interested to hear your answer as well Imik."
"I do not bring accusations Sinkahue, I bring advise and a simple word of caution. If my concerns about Arianrhod prove to be true, we may find ourselves under attack before we are aware of it." Imik moved slightly away from the two Federation officers, the information wasn't being accepted as she hoped and the Ojnas now felt she was dealing with closed minds. "Evidence of a power source could simply be something we have yet to discover, or we do not scan for at this time. But do you not see they do not attempt to remove us from their system, as they cannot do so because of the fragment and the limit of what power they use."
"I take caution regarding these beings Imik, but I don't feel we are in danger from them" Shran replied. "I'll have Deanna do a thorough scan of the planet to see if any power source can be located, because I want you to feel that your concerns are being heard. I doubt we find one, but we'll check to be sure." The Andorian sat back and rubbed his thumb and index finger against his chin, obviously in thought. "I want you to now consider something Imik. You are young, somewhat inexperienced for an Ojnas. Do you think it at least possible, just perhaps, that your distrust of them stems from the fact that your race apparently had prior dealings with them in some limited fashion and it went poorly? I can tell you from personal experience that you wouldn't be the first to allow past history to cloud your mind. I and my entire race is guilty of it with the Vulcans, most races are that way towards the Romulans and the Ferengi. I just want you to consider the possibility that you may not be thinking clearly on this matter."
Jon kept his attention on Imik as the captain made his statement. The key now was how would Imik take it. Hopefully she would allow herself to consider the possibility that his statement had merit.
Imik now knew she was dealing with closed minds, "With respect Sinkahue, I used all available data from both Federation and Ojnas data banks. I am simply reporting what the result of that search revealed and urging caution because one of these beings has been proved a purveyor of falsehoods my age should have little or nothing to do with my report." She looked to Jon and could plainly see and feel that he to supported the captain in his assumptions. Placing the PaDD down Imik lowered her head, "I am sorry to have disturbed the unity of this vessel, I will revoke my report and with your permission resume my duties." She stood head bowed, awaiting permission to leave. Within her mind she knew now that the Federation thought more of these aliens than her people, they would believe them before an Ojnas.
Shran knew that look, that tone. He remembered it from when Sachzny served on his vessel. "No need to revoke anything Imik. I said I would have Deanna look into this and that is what we'll do. You can return to your station." He stood and watched her exit and then gave a look to Jon. They both knew they suddenly had a difficult situation to deal with. "Perhaps you should speak with her. You were closer with Sachzny and understand her people a bit more. I'll work with Deanna regarding her claims, see if their is any validity in them."
