Sins of the Empire

While patrolling the Neutral Zone, the Washington receives a hail from a Klingon vessel being attacked by Romulans. When they come to the Klingon ships rescue, they take aboard a person Shran met through Worf many years earlier, a female named Ba'el. She is being hunted by the Romulans and by Toral, son of Duras, to keep secret what she knows about the Khitomer massacre, as well as her parentage. Shran had promised her years ago that he would protect her, and that promise now thrusts Shran and the Washington into a Klingon conflict that has festered for far too long.
